Congress Proposing more cuts to Medicare

For immediate release

Congress is proposing more cuts to Medicare that will further affect Medicare beneficiaries by reducing oxygen reimbursements and limiting access to power mobile devices.

These and other reductions will reduce beneficiaries’ freedom to choose their home medical equipment provider, which will lead to compromised quality of service and diminished quality of life.

It is time to speak up and to raise awareness of the home medical equipment industry. Enough is enough. Medicare beneficiaries should not have to be burdened with additional cuts, and deserve the right to be able to choose their own local, small-business provider.

Citizens are urged to call the U.S. Capitol switchboard on Dec. 2, “Shut Down the Switchboard Day”, and tell their Congressperson to co-sponsor HR 3790 and ask their Senators to support legislation to repeal the durable medical equipment competitive bidding program. The passage of these bills will ensure that Medicare beneficiaries get the care that they deserve.

Americans of all ages are encouraged to dial the switchboard at 202.224.3121. More information and talking points on HR 3790 can be found at www.lastchanceforpatients.org.

  1. The home medical industry is an industry that many don't recognize or know of. It really is quite sad and I hope people begin to realize just what they are missing.
